Character Select at Black Cat brings a live-band reimagining of classic video game music to San Francisco, turning themes from Hyrule, the Mushroom Kingdom, and Green Hill Zone into a high-energy set built on jazz, funk, and rock improvisation. Led by saxophonist Trevor Strohl on saxophone, EWI, and vocoder, the band pairs technical firepower with playful, full-throttle arrangements built for gamers and music lovers alike. He’s joined by pianist Jonathan Franaszek, guitarist Dylan Escudero, bassist Miguel “FRUNKYMAN” Leyva, and drummer Nick Aganad.
