Sam Rudin Quartet at Mr. Tipples brings pianist Sam Rudin’s explosive blend of jazz and blues to the stage with Charles McNeal on saxophone, Essiet Essiet on bass, and Jeremy Steinkoler on drums. Known as “Hurricane Sam,” Rudin developed his high-energy style as a solo performer and leader of Hurricane Sam & the Hotshots, and he is also the founder of Berkeley’s intimate Back Room venue and its monthly Sam’s Corner series.
