Benny Amon Trio

Benny Amon brings the vibrant, emotional sounds of classic jazz trios to Stookey’s Blue Room — a San Francisco-based bandleader and sideman who specializes in the rich piano trio traditions of the 1930s through 50s, drawing on the music of Ahmad Jamal, Erroll Garner, Art Tatum, Clarence Profit, and many more. Joining him are two accomplished Bay Area musicians in their own right: pianist Rumi Abe, who has made a splash on the bop and hard bop scenes, and bassist Erik Markowitz, one of the first-call bassists in the Bay Area for everything from gypsy jazz to modern jazz.
