Jules Broussard’s New Orleans Jazz Band
Savoy Tivoli 1434 Grant Ave, San Francisco, CA, United StatesNorth Beach New Orleans
Vibe: Historic Bohemian | Indoor-Outdoor Charm | Eclectic Live Music
The Savoy Tivoli opened in 1907 as a boarding house and restaurant for Italian immigrants rebuilding the city after the great earthquake. By the 1960s and 70s it had become the epicenter of North Beach bohemian culture — the preferred haunt of the Beat Generation, and famously the original home of Beach Blanket Babylon, the world’s longest-running musical revue, which premiered on its stage in 1974. After a major renovation and reopening in late 2022, the legendary soul is intact, the edges just a little more polished.
Live Music & Atmosphere
From midday jazz to late-night rock and funk, Savoy hosts a rotating calendar of high-quality local talent on a full stage with a professional PA — some of the best-sounding sets in the neighborhood. The indoor-outdoor feel, created by large open-front windows onto Grant Avenue, gives every show a European-café-meets-California-cool energy. It’s a place where you feel the weight of SF history and a cold beer in the same moment.
Don’t Miss: Jules Broussard
At 89 years old, saxophonist Jules Broussard is a true master of the craft — famously known for his ability to play two saxophones simultaneously. His New Orleans Jazz Band brings authentic NOLA energy that makes every appearance a bucket-list experience for jazz fans. Check the calendar and don’t sleep on it.
Details that define the room

• A separate game room offers a slightly quieter vibe when you need a breather.
• Open-front windows onto Grant Avenue make the sidewalk feel like part of the room.
• Unexpectedly great gyoza and piranha bites for sushi lovers.
• Come as you are: the crowd runs from neighborhood regulars to first-time visitors discovering North Beach for the first time.
