Tony Johnson Quartet
October 18 @ 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm
$20
Tony Johnson Quartet at Bird & Beckett features veteran San Francisco drummer Tony Johnson alongside Charlie McCarthy on saxophone, Sam Cady on piano, and Chuck Bennett on bass for the bookshop’s Sunday Happy Hour on October 18. A longtime presence on the city’s jazz scene and a resident bandleader at Bird & Beckett, Johnson brings a deep grounding in swing, bebop, and straight-ahead jazz, anchoring a classic saxophone-and-rhythm-section ensemble with decades of experience behind the drums.
