The Cottontails

The Cottontails bring polished vintage dance music to Specs, moving easily from Gatsby-era 1920s/’30s jazz and 1940s swing to rhythm-and-blues rooted in the 1950s and ’60s. Expect a stylish but lively set built for both close listening and a cocktail-hour atmosphere, led by vocalist Karina Denike with pianist Michael McIntosh, guitarist Vic Wong, bassist Joe Kyle Jr., saxophonist/clarinetist Tom Griesser, and percussionist Randy Odell.

Their adaptable format can range from an acoustic duo or jazz quintet to a horn-and-guitar dance band, and the group has appeared at venues including SF City Hall, Yoshi’s, the Great American Music Hall, the California Academy of Sciences, and the Legion of Honor.
