Keys Jazz Bistro welcomes the Brad Leali Jazz Quartet featuring Carla Helmbrecht — Carla’s sensitive and sophisticated vocal stylings are the perfect complement to the soulful, blues- and swing-influenced style of Brad Leali, one of today’s most notable saxophonists who has toured and recorded with Harry Connick, Jr., the Count Basie Orchestra, and Lyle Lovett, served as a standing member of the Kennedy Center Honors Band, performed at President Obama’s first inaugural celebration, and currently holds the position of Professor of Jazz Saxophone at the University of North Texas. Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter Carla Helmbrecht’s recording One for My Baby earned a prominent position on Gavin’s Jazz Chart, while Be Cool Be Kinddebuted as “the most added jazz record on radio in the nation” and received three Grammy nominations — together, backed by a world-class trio of Adam Shulman on piano/organ, Brian Fishler on drums, and Matthew Montgomery on bass, they explore classic jazz standards and original material with arrangements that bridge jazz history and modern sensibility in one unforgettable evening.
