Smokehouse brings a powerhouse of Bay Area talent to Keys Jazz Bistro — born from a spontaneous, bar-stool moment of inspiration over Jimmy McGriff’s “Rock Candy,” this organ-driven quartet unites four distinguished musicians whose collective résumé spans the globe. Eamonn Flynn, the Irish Hammond B3 master who played on the 14-million-selling The Commitments soundtrack before touring with Michael Franti & Spearhead, Pee Wee Ellis, and Zigaboo Modeliste, leads on organ alongside guitarist Anthony Paule, whose Anthony Paule Soul Orchestra has earned seventeen Blues Music Award nominations and toured with Boz Scaggs, Charlie Musselwhite, and Van Morrison. Drummer Willy Jordan — a two-time Grammy nominee who toured and recorded with John Lee Hooker from 1996 to 1998 and has performed with Carlos Santana and Elvin Bishop — and bassist Endre Tarczy, a first-call Bay Area player who has worked with Gregg Allman, Robben Ford, and the Greaseland All Stars, round out a band that is as deep in soul, blues, and funk as any you’ll find on a San Francisco stage.
