Smith Dobson Quartet

Smith Dobson brings nearly two decades of Bay Area jazz experience to Bird & Beckett, performing as a rare triple threat on drums, vibraphone, and saxophone. He carries on a distinguished family legacy — his late father, Smith Dobson IV, was a renowned pianist who led the Jazz series at the Garden City in San Jose for over twenty years, accompanying legends including Art Pepper, Stan Getz, Bobby Hutcherson, Chet Baker, and Lee Konitz. A Santa Cruz native steeped in the tradition from birth, Dobson is a versatile and deeply rooted voice in the Bay Area jazz community.
