Rhonda Sauce

Rhonda Sauce is the kind of artist who reminds you why jazz matters — hailing from Oakland, California, she has quietly become one of the Bay Area’s most versatile and compelling voices, described by Dr. K. Nalley as having “the special voice, firmly rooted in the jazz greats while still oozing her special unique style.” An accomplished arranger, composer, lyricist, multi-instrumentalist, and captivating vocalist, she has collaborated with luminaries such as Lenny Williams, Tammy Hall, Faye Carroll, Kim Nalley, and Terrance Kelly, and has graced the stages of Yoshi’s, SF Jazz, Freight and Salvage, the Concord Jazz Festival, and the Fillmore Jazz Festival. An alumna of NEA Jazz Master Dee Dee Bridgewater’s Woodshed Network Residency, Rhonda Sauce is not merely a custodian of tradition but a visionary artist forging a sound that honors jazz’s rich history while pushing it boldly forward — and the Grove is proud to welcome her to the stage.
