Patrick Wolff Quartet at Mr. Tipples features saxophonist and clarinetist Patrick Wolff leading a hard-bop-rooted modern jazz group of some of San Francisco’s finest players into one of the city’s most focused listening rooms. Joined by Keith Saunders on piano, Eric Markowitz on bass, and special guest Mark Ferber on drums, the quartet leans into original compositions and hard bop classics by Horace Silver, Kenny Dorham, and Freddie Redd, drawing on a big, unified sound shaped by more than nine years of collaboration and the acclaim of Wolff’s Bay Blue, which spent months on the national jazz radio charts and was named one of the Mercury News’ best jazz albums of 2024.
