Next Gen Jam

Next Gen Jam at Bird & Beckett is the bookshop’s recurring Sunday-afternoon jam session, pitched at student jazz players but open to anyone who wants to sit in. October’s host band is the Walter Arron Quartet, four current Bay Area high school students: bassist and bandleader Walter Arron of the Nueva School, alto saxophonist Jairo Guerigay of Burlingame High, pianist Ludovic Blain-Galvez of Berkeley High, and drummer Aaron Donohoe. Earlier editions of the series have been hosted by groups from UC Berkeley and Bishop O’Dowd.

No charge to attend or play. Stay for a tune, stay for a set, stay for the show. Donate what fits your pocketbook, and know that we very much appreciate your support! It’s all part of our weekly Sunday Happy Hour programming.
