Nate Gilbreath and Alan Jones’s OHANA Collective
August 16 @ 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm
$25
Nate Gilbreath and Alan Jones’s OHANA Collective at Bird & Beckett showcases a young San Francisco quintet co-led by trombonist Nate Gilbreath and bassist Alan Jones, taking its name from the Hawaiian word for family. Gilbreath is a 2025 graduate of the San Francisco Conservatory of Music’s Roots, Jazz, and American Music program, where he studied with longtime Santana trombonist Jeff Cressman and wrote much of his own recital material; Jones and drummer Miles Turk both played in that conservatory band, and the group has carried that chemistry forward. Filled out by Nicolaus Gelin on trumpet and Mwanzi Harriot on guitar, the two-horn frontline gives the collective a full, arrangement-minded sound built around original compositions and contemporary jazz repertoire.
