Modern Jazz Hot Club brings Django Reinhardt’s Hot Club spirit into the present at Stookey’s Blue Room on Thursday, September 3, from 8:00–10:30 PM. Guitarists Kevan Smedt, Nelsen Hutchison, and Jordan Samuels join bassist John Harris for fast, harmonized guitar lines, propulsive la pompe rhythm, and inventive arrangements stretching from Django-era repertoire and Pixinguinha to Wayne Shorter and Chick Corea.
