King David

King David at Black Cat brings the Lagos-born, San Francisco-based vocalist and his full band for a night of voice-led, genre-bending soul that runs through gospel fire, jazz harmony, funk pocket, Afrobeat propulsion, rock abandon, and folk honesty. His voice moves from church-born intensity to falsetto shimmer, built around songs that turn ache into movement. He’s backed by bassist Mark Ligonde, drummer Rich Newell, guitarist Chili Corder, and Joe Maier.
