Kenny Washington Quartet

Kenny Washington Quartet at Keys Jazz Bistro showcases the Oakland-based, New Orleans–born vocalist renowned for his supple tenor, formidable range, improvisational scatting, and emotionally direct interpretations of the Jazz songbook. After singing Gospel in church, playing saxophone, and performing for nine years with U.S. Navy bands, Washington established himself as a Bay Area standout and has since appeared with Wynton Marsalis and the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra, Gregory Porter, Paula West, and numerous leading regional musicians; his acclaimed 2020 debut, What’s the Hurry?, reflects his fluent command of Swing, Ballads, Bebop phrasing, and Soul-inflected Vocal Jazz.
