Kazemde George Trio

Kazemde George brings deep musical intelligence and a rich cross-cultural vision to The Deluxe — an Oakland-based jazz saxophonist, composer, and educator raised in Berkeley by Caribbean parents, he completed the prestigious Harvard/NEC joint program earning a Bachelor’s in Neurobiology and a Master’s in Jazz Composition, studying with Miguel Zenón, Jason Moran, Donny McCaslin, and Danilo Pérez along the way. A Harvard fellowship took him to Havana for ten months to study traditional Cuban music, expanding a worldview that spans jazz, hip-hop, Afro-Cuban, Afro-Caribbean, and Afro-Brazilian traditions — all of which inform his work as both a performer and electronic music producer. He released his debut album I Insist on Dave Douglas’s Greenleaf Music label in 2021, with his sophomore release Ocean Passage arriving in spring 2026, and has performed alongside Norah Jones, Jason Moran, David Murray, and Solange Knowles at venues ranging from Lincoln Center to AfroPunk.
