The Jose Simioni Trio brings a singular, deeply personal sound to the Makers Stage at Filbert & Grant, led by a North Beach fixture for over two decades — a self-taught master whose sophisticated, gritty blend of jazz, blues, and rock defies easy categorization. Influenced by everyone from Jimi Hendrix and Eric Clapton to jazz greats Joe Pass and Jim Hall, Simioni has synthesized these icons into a voice entirely his own, moving seamlessly from floating, lazy melodies to a rocking, soulful growl that only a veteran of the Grant Avenue circuit can deliver. He is joined by Brian Fishler on drums and Robert Kennedy on organ.
