Johnny Bones

Johnny Bones is the full‑time saxophonist and multi‑woodwind player for The California Honeydrops, appearing at Mr. Tipple’s Recording Studio with his own project, Johnny Bones and the Palace of Jazz. His group draws on swing, jump blues, early jazz, and touches of reggae, funk, ska, and blues, channeling the wah‑wah trumpets, growling saxophones, and stride‑style piano of Duke Ellington’s Cotton Club era and Jelly Roll Morton into gritty, good‑spirited sets well suited to Mr. Tipple’s intimate, cocktail‑focused room.
