Jason Movrich & Friends

Bay Area guitarist, vocalist, and bandleader Jason Movrich brings his trio, Jason Movrich & Friends, downstairs to Local Edition in downtown San Francisco. Movrich—also known for helming the horn-heavy soul outfit Big Blu Soul Revue—teams with bassist Eric Goodwill and drummer Joe Carusi to deliver a danceable, rhythm-forward live set. Spanning electric blues, 1960s and ’70s Stax- and Motown-era soul, syncopated funk, and jazz improvisation, the trio balances driving vamps with expressive guitar solos, turning the vintage newspaper-themed speakeasy into an energetic showcase of classic American groove music.
