Howard Wiley brings his hard-driving blend of soul-jazz, funk, gospel, and R&B to Mr. Tipple’s Recording Studio, mixing West Coast-flavored originals with a funkified selection of classics. A Berkeley native who first found his musical footing in the church, Wiley has been a standout on the Bay Area scene since his teens and has grown into what DownBeat calls “a representative of the next generation” of jazz.
