Essiet Okon Essiet Quartet at Mr. Tipples features the acclaimed New York bassist and former member of Art Blakey’s Jazz Messengers, whose career includes work with Abdullah Ibrahim, Bobby Watson, Freddie Hubbard, and many more. His music draws on post-bop jazz and a lifelong openness to global influences, including the West African rhythms central to his Nigerian jazz project, IBO.
