Erik Jekabson Quartet plays the music of Rogers and Hart
July 5 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm
$40
Erik Jekabson brings the beloved songbook of Rodgers and Hart to Keys Jazz Bistro — the Bay Area trumpeter, composer, and arranger leads his quartet through the music of the legendary duo behind “Blue Moon,” “My Funny Valentine,” and “The Lady is a Tramp,” reimagined with fresh jazz sensibility. One of the Bay Area’s most versatile musical minds, Jekabson has arranged for the San Francisco Symphony, the BBC Radio Orchestra, and the Utah Symphony, and has shared the stage with John Mayer, Galactic, Taj Mahal, Maceo Parker, Boz Skaggs, and Illinois Jacquet, among many others. With eight albums under his own name and a thriving monthly residency at the Jazzschool in Berkeley with his Electric Squeezebox Orchestra, Jekabson is a singular force in Bay Area jazz — joined tonight by the stellar rhythm section of pianist Adam Shulman, bassist Dan Feiszli, and drummer Jeff Marrs.
