Providence-born jazz pianist and composer Emmett Van Leer leads a piano-centered modern-jazz quartet at Stookey’s Blue Room on Thursday, September 10, from 8:00–10:30 PM, joined by Rabiah Kabir on flute, Jaycie Grady on drums, and Isaac Coyle on bass. Van Leer is currently studying at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music with pianists Helen Sung and Edward Simon.
