Eli Yamin — known far and wide as “Dr. E” — comes to Bird & Beckett from New York City with a joyful, deeply bluesy program of blues, bebop, and swing, mixing topical originals with classics by Thelonious Monk, Elizabeth Cotten, and Willie Dixon. A 2026 Jazz Hero honoree who has shared stages with Illinois Jacquet and Mercedes Ellington and toured more than 20 countries as a U.S. cultural ambassador, Dr. E co-founded New York’s Jazz Power Initiative on the belief that “the blues is the roots, everything else is the fruits.” An evening with Dr. E is joy, swing, and the blues in full bloom.
