The David Blake Quartet brings Brooklyn’s post-bop vitality to Mr. Tipple’s, led by Canadian-born guitarist David Blake on tour supporting his upcoming album Radio Casual — due out summer 2026 on Cellar Music — and featuring rising star pianist Dabin Ryu, drummer Jonas Esser, and bassist Warren Louie. From modal romps to collective improvisation, this quartet plays with urgency and dynamic interplay that crackles from the first note, a sound that crystallized with Ryu’s addition to what began as a Brooklyn trio. Following David’s acclaimed Trio album featuring bassist Drew Gress and drummer Ari Hoenig, Radio Casual arrives with serious momentum — and Mr. Tipple’s is the perfect room to hear it first.
