Daniel Herrera’s Verve Quintet brings the driving energy of 1960s hard bop to Mr. Tipples. Led by trumpeter Daniel Herrera and tenor saxophonist Andrew Dixon, the Bay Area ensemble honors the Blue Note tradition through standards and original compositions, with a sound inspired by artists including Horace Silver, Freddie Hubbard, Art Blakey, Miles Davis, John Coltrane, and Lee Morgan.
