Brian Andres Latin Quartet

June 26 @ 10:30 pm - 11:30 pm

$15

The Brian Andres Quartet brings world-class percussion mastery and a lifetime of Latin jazz immersion to Mr. Tipple’s, led by Bay Area drummer and bandleader Brian Andres — a Cincinnati-born musician raised in a household of professional musicians whose diverse career has taken him from performances with Rock and Roll Hall of Fame members Little Anthony and the Imperials and blues greats Lonnie Mack and Sam Myers, to the rich Latin music traditions of the San Francisco Bay Area where he has called home since 1999. A collaborator with Dr. Loco, the Grammy-nominated Pacific Mambo Orchestra, and “the Father of Chicano Music” Lalo Guerrero, Andres has built a reputation as one of the Bay Area’s most versatile and deeply rooted rhythm masters — recognized in the 2015 Downbeat Magazine Reader’s Poll as one of the top 20 drummers in the world. As founder of the Afro-Cuban Jazz Cartel and Trio Latino, and a featured Master Class contributor to Downbeat Magazine, Andres brings to every performance the rare combination of irresistible Afro-Cuban and Caribbean rhythm, serious jazz improvisation, and the commanding presence of a musician who has spent decades perfecting his craft on stages across the globe.
