Saxophonist, composer, and educator Beth Schenck brings her boundary-pushing musical voice to Mr. Tipple’s Recording Studio, drawing from a rich web of collaborative projects across the Bay Area experimental and jazz scenes. Her work spans the Beth Schenck Quintet, the Social Stutter Saxophone Quartet, House of Faern with Jenny Scheinman, and Sifter, among many others — a range that reflects her restless creative curiosity. In addition to performing and composing, Schenck teaches music at San Francisco Day School and serves as the middle school representative for the California Alliance for Jazz, making her as invested in the future of the art form as she is in pushing its present boundaries.
