B3B4 is a San Francisco organ jazz quartet and a beloved regular at Bird & Beckett Books & Records in Glen Park. The band features Kevin Gerzevitz on Hammond organ, Tom Griesser on saxophone, Scott Foster on guitar, and Dan Foltz on drums. Combining the soulful growl of the Hammond B3 organ, the resonant bite of the tenor saxophone, the bluesy fluidity of the electric guitar, and the propulsive groove of the drums, B3B4 is heavily steeped in soulful funky blues and hard bop. Their performances range from mid-tempo blues to warm, intricate ballads to driving up-tempo barnburners, drawing from both jazz classics and original compositions.
