Straight-Ahead Jazz

Lorca Hart Quartet at The Deluxe features the acclaimed West Coast drummer and educator, a Taos, New Mexico native whose playing is deeply rooted in jazz history while alive to modern, collaborative improvisation. A CalArts graduate and son of jazz great Billy Hart, he has performed with Freddie Hubbard, Bobby Hutcherson, Carmen Lundy, Hugh Masekela, Stanley Jordan, Bennie Maupin, and Julian Lage; his own groups blend swinging tradition, blues feeling, and dynamically conversational ensemble work.
