The Dred Scott Trio

The Dred Scott Trio at The Deluxe features the iconoclastic pianist and composer Dred Scott, a Bay Area–rooted, New York–based multi-instrumentalist recognized for playful original music, inventive jazz improvisation, and unexpected pop-song reinterpretations. A co-founder of San Francisco’s influential hip-hop-jazz group Alphabet Soup, Scott balances deep jazz scholarship with an irreverent sense of humor; his recent projects include the Latin-jazz–inspired Cali Mamboand The Pacific Jazz Group.
