My Dog Jack at The Deluxe brings a San Francisco folk band’s cold-coast take on western music to two shows: with Mae Powell on Friday and The Good Bad on Saturday. Drawing on years spent playing folk, jazz, and bluegrass around the Bay Area, the group has returned to songwriting with catchy original tunes, acoustic roots, and an energetic live show. Their influences stretch from John Prine, The Band, and Kate Wolf to Hurray for the Riff Raff, The Wood Brothers, and The Devil Makes Three.
