Kay Kostopoulos CD Release Party

Kay Kostopoulos at Bird & Beckett celebrates the release of her fourth album, All This Is Possible, a collection of jazz standards and original lyrics shaped by the Greek heritage and theatrical training that have become her signature — she holds an ACT master’s and spent 25 years lecturing at Stanford in both theater and business. She’s joined by her musical partner of fifteen years, Bay Area multi-instrumentalist Noel Jewkes, known as “Dr. Legato” for the smooth tone that led critic Phil Elwood to call him the finest modern saxophonist anywhere, along with pianist and arranger John DiMartino, bassist Carla Kaufman, and drummer Mark Lee. Reviewers have described the record as “a recording of depth, subtlety, and artistic uniqueness” from “a top-tier vocalist of significant versatility and honesty,” and the evening pairs those tunes with excerpts from Homer’s Odyssey and jazz songs devoted to Delilah, Circe, Cleopatra, and Persephone.
