Emmett Van Leer brings an intimate piano-trio set to The Deluxe, blending original compositions with a modern, lyrical approach to jazz improvisation. The Providence-born pianist and composer is currently studying with Helen Sung and Edward Simon at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, and his music draws from the expressive space between contemporary jazz, post-bop, and the classic piano-trio tradition.
