DESCRIPTION:Amina Scott\, born and raised in Oakland\, CA\, is an upright and electric bassist\, educator\, composer\, and arranger. Her interest in music began at an early age when her grandmother began giving her piano lessons. From then\, her love and passion for music has yet to cease\, playing electric bass when she was 12 years old and was soon playing shows with local bands in Oakland. In 2017\, Amina was chosen to become a fellow at Ravinia Steans Institute of Music where she was coached by Billy Childs\, Rufus Reid\, and Nathan Davis. In New Orleans\, Amina leads her own bands\, some of which have performed all over including major festivals such as the Ascona Jazz Festival and the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival. In 2025\, she was chosen as the Healdsburg Jazz Festival Rising Star Artist in Residence. Additionally\, she has performed and toured with various artists including Nicholas Payton\, Joanne Brackeen\, Don Vappie\, Ingrid Jensen\, Herlin Riley\, Dee Dee Bridgewater\, Randy Brecker\, Christian Scott Atunde Adjuah\, and more. In addition to performing\, Amina is an avid composer. She has been commissioned to write arrangements for the Next Generation Big Band in New Orleans\, LA as well as the Dee Dee Bridgewater Big Band. Amina continues to forge her own path as a trailblazing artist; while staying true to the musical lineage as well as herself\, Amina is able to captivate audiences around the world with her music and her story. As an educator\, she currently holds positions at Loyola University New Orleans\, which she has held since 2019\, and University of New Orleans. She spent many years as a Shakespearian actress based out of New York City\, where she began to sing Jazz again with the incredible Marjorie Eliot in Harlem. She moved to her home state of California in 2014\, and began playing music full time\, starting the eclectic gypsy jazz inspired band\, Bandjango Collectif\, a wild around the edges band that mixes French Jazz Manouche\, New Orleans Hot Swing\, and Eclectic Global Folk\, allowing Stella to explore and play in vocal improvisation\, different languages\, and song interpretation. In 2019 she debuted The Billie Holiday Project\, a historically centered musical tribute to the great Lady Day; The show was met with great success and quickly moved into some of the Bay Area’s most reputable listening venues and began touring nationally.

DESCRIPTION:Andrew Finn Magill\, who has been featured on NPR and PBS\, moved to Brazil in 2014 to immerse himself in Brazilian choro music. Magill was signed to Ropeadope Records in 2018 for his original Brazilian music project.He followed up that release in 2021 with the sequelFesta!Says legendary Brazilian percussionist Airto Moreira (Miles Davis\, Chick Corea\, etc): “He can fool you into thinking he is from Brazil!”Clarice Is a Grammy-nominated multi-percussionist from São Paulo\, Brazil. She earned a Bachelor of Music from Northern Illinois University and a Masters in World Percussion from the California Institute of the Arts. She currently teaches World Percussion at College of the Canyons is an active performer\, recording artist\, and composer in Los Angeles\, CA and is a regular clinician at colleges\, universities\, and percussion festivals\, including the Percussive Arts Society International Convention\, California Brazil Camp\, and Choro Camp New England. She is heavily influenced by her native Brazilian culture\, and it has been her driving force to learn\, perform\, write\, and teach these styles. Clarice proudly endorses Contemporânea Musical\, Tycoon Percussion Instruments\, TRX Cymbals\, and Ahead Armor Cases.Los Angeles-based composer and seven-string guitarist Nando Duarteis celebrated for his extensive work in film\, advertising\, and sound design\, contributing to projects for major brands like Taco Bell and HBO\, and earning multiple awards for his scoring and arrangements.
