SUMMARY:Jules Broussard
DESCRIPTION:Louisiana born-and-raised living legend Jules Broussard has been blowing away Bay Area audiences with his double-saxophone serenades and soulful solos for over 60 years. He’s been stage and studio mates with everyone from Alice Coltrane to Van Morrisson to Carlos Santana – it’s often joked that in his 88 years\, there’s really no one Jules hasn’t played with. It’s rare to glimpse such living history in such an intimate setting\, but this is your lucky night in NOLA Tunisia. \nNo stranger to the Keys stage\, Jules brings his freshly minted New Orleans Jazz Band comprising Bay Area jazz veterans Ned Boynton on guitar\, Kevin Gerzevitz on piano/keys\, Bob Blankenship on drums\, and Derek Evans and Romalyn Schmaltz on vocals. They’ve been enjoying residencies in North Beach and in Fairfax since the spring of 2025\, and this is their first Keys performance as a group.

SUMMARY:Suzanna Smith
DESCRIPTION:Returning to Keys Jazz Bistro\, Suzanna Smith fronts another stellar ensemble to work her magic around the Peggy Lee songbook. “There are relatively few contemporary female vocalists who evoke Peggy Lee\, at least not genuinely. Suzanna Smith numbers among that rare ilk. That Smith sounds like Lee — slightly breathy and warmly sensual with a hint of huskiness — is undeniable\, but the parallels extend much further. Lee’s ability to not just caress a ballad but smother it in mink has seldom been matched. She was also a sage swinger — never too much\, never too little — as well as a first-rate songwriter. Smith checks all those boxes.” \n— Christopher Louden\, Jazz Times

SUMMARY:Jazz Mafia’s Realistic Orchestra
DESCRIPTION:Now entering its second year\, Jazz Mafia’s Monthly Residency has become a laboratory for magic—unexpected collaborations\, long-awaited reunions\, spontaneous experiments that somehow turn into fan favorites\, and the kind of once-in-a-room moments that help define the Bay Area scene. To launch 2026\, we’re taking that spirit to the extreme by bringing in one of the flagship ensembles of the entire Jazz Mafia universe: the 18-piece Realistic Orchestra. \nFormed in 2004 by drummer/composer Eric Garland and Adam Theis\, Realistic Orchestra is a modern electro-acoustic big band built from the core musicians and co-founders who shaped Jazz Mafia from the beginning. The group blends classic big-band instrumentation with futuristic textures\, original compositions\, bold arrangements\, and a long history of cross-disciplinary collaborations. Born during the legendary “Jazz Mafia Tuesdays” era\, Realistic Orchestra spent years premiering new works every week\, creating a unique sound that sits somewhere between jazz orchestra\, film score\, electronic music\, underground hip-hop session\, and experimental theater pit. \nFor this special residency kickoff\, the full 18-piece ensemble squeezes into two of the Bay Area’s most intimate rooms—an ambitious\, joyful\, slightly absurd idea that channels everything the residency stands for: community\, risk-taking\, and big musical visions in close quarters. \nOne night\, Eighteen musicians. A 2026 launch with heavyweight sonic firepower.

SUMMARY:Roger Glenn Jazz Trio
DESCRIPTION:The Roger Glenn Jazz Organ Trio brings the soulful tradition of the classic Hammond B-3 jazz organ trio to life with swing\, groove\, and deep improvisation. \nMaster multi-instrumentalist Roger Glenn—on flute\, saxophone\, and vibraphone—is the son of the late Tyree Glenn\, one of the 57 jazz greats pictured in the historic photo A Great Day in Harlem\, and a longtime collaborator of jazz icons including Duke Ellington\, Cab Calloway\, and Louis Armstrong. \nEntering the jazz world at an early age\, Roger has performed and recorded with legendary artists including Dizzy Gillespie\, Mongo Santamaria\, Rosemary Clooney\, and Herbie Mann. His flute playing is featured on Cal Tjader’s Grammy-winning album La Onda Va Bien\, as well as recordings with Donald Byrd\, Peaches & Herb\, and Con Funk Shun. In addition to leading his own ensembles\, Roger has toured with Taj Mahal\, Kurt Elling\, and The Count Basie Orchestra. \nIn 2025 he released his acclaimed Latin jazz album My Latin Heart\, which has spent 26 weeks on the JazzWeek charts and has received worldwide radio airplay and enthusiastic critical praise. \nRoger’s musical roots run deep in Latin jazz\, but his artistry spans jazz\, classical\, and popular styles. With the Roger Glenn Jazz Organ Trio\, he celebrates the rich tradition of organ trio masters—combining soulful grooves\, blues\, bebop\, and Latin influences. The group was also featured as the opening band for Steely Dan in 2015. \nKeyboardist Wayne De La Cruz began his musical journey at age nine on drums before discovering vibraphone and eventually the Hammond organ. By sixteen he had acquired his first Hammond B-3 and committed himself to the instrument’s distinctive sound. After years of performing on various keyboards\, he returned to the classic Hammond B-3 in 2003 and now performs extensively in the traditional and modern organ trio style. \nDrummer Mark Lee brings decades of experience on the San Francisco Bay Area music scene\, performing in jazz ensembles and musical theater productions. He has also backed notable artists including Ernestine Anderson\, Freda Payne\, Charles Brown\, Mary Lou Henner\, Stephanie Powers\, and The Pointer Sisters.
