SUMMARY:Pamela Rose & Wayne De La Cruz: Hammond Organ Party!
DESCRIPTION:Jazz and blues audiences will associate vocalist and educator Pamela Rose with her work of the past 15 years\, a celebration of women songwriters in her book\, recording and touring multimedia shows Wild Women of Song: Great Gal Composers of the Jazz Era and Blues is a Woman.   \nBut San Francisco fans know that Rose’s enduring passion for the swinging and soulful sounds of the Hammond B-3 organ have often paired her with jazz B-3 master Wayne De La Cruz at local clubs and festivals.  De La Cruz approached Rose with the idea of taking that partnership into the studio with special arrangements structured for voice and B-3. \nThe result is Hammond Organ Party!\, an inexplicably rare encounter between a soul-drenched singer and a prodigious B-3 practitioner. Loose and limber\, moving and grooving\, this project feels like a Saturday night celebration\, with Rose and her top-shelf cast romping through rare jazz standards\, blues and R&B classics.Joined onstage by guitar great Danny Caron (Charles Brown\, Bonnie Raitt)\, drummer Mark Lee\, this group is ready to Party!

SUMMARY:Eamonn Flynn & Dublinesque
DESCRIPTION:Eamonn Flynn forges his own brand of Irish soul. The Dublin-born singer-songwriter/pianist got his start with The Commitments\, a hit film about an Irish soul band\, and has since worked with American blues and R&B stars Elvin Bishop\, Maria Muldaur\,  Evelyn Champagne King\, Michael Franti & Spearhead\, Zigaboo Modeliste (The Meters)\, The Ray Charles Project\, and many more. Flynn’s new Irish music oriented quartet DUBLINESQUE brings his deep soul and gospel roots together with the Irish music traditions he was raised on.\n“Dublinesque is my attempt to recreate the kind of parties we had in my parent’s house\, growing up in Dublin\,” explains Flynn. “There’d be neighbours and friends and it would always end up as a sing-song/jam session. Everyone would participate – if you couldn’t hold a tune you’d perform a ‘recitation’ or tell a joke!\n“There was never any delineation between genres of music – whether it was Irish tunes and ballads\, soul music or a Beatles song\,” he emphasizes.\nThe band brings together three talented Bay Area Irish traditional musicians: fellow Irishman Félim Egan (The Black Brothers) on accordion\, local favorite Darcy Noonan on fiddle\, and from Basque country\, Spain\, Hector Bragado on banjo. They are also sometimes joined by special guests. Previous guests have included Glide Memorial Choir\, Mary Black\, Róisín O\, Michael Black\, Shay Black\, Autumn Rhodes\, Margaret Graham and dancers from the Kennelly\, Dillon and Whelan Schools of Irish Dance and the Cooley-Keegan Branch of Comhaltas Ceoltóirí. The last time they played at Key’s\, Maria Muldaur joined them to sing a song. You never know who will show up. Either way\, it’s always a joyful\, celebratory evening of music\, stories and fun.

During this 20 year period\, Miles released a treasure trove of historical albums including Cookin’\, Relaxin’\, Workin’\, Steamin’\, Milestones\, Miles Ahead\, Kinda Blue\, ESP\, Seven Steps to Heaven\, Nefertiti\, Sorcerer\, Miles Smiles\, and dozens of live recordings.
