Caffe Trieste is a legendary North Beach institution and the first espresso house on the West Coast, opened in 1956 by “Papa Gianni” Giotta. The room hums from morning to evening, but Saturdays are something special thanks to the long‑running Caffe Trieste Saturday Concert, which has been going since the early 1970s.
