SUMMARY:Sirenland Poetry Book Release Party w/ Jennifer Barone & Duo Pizzicato
DESCRIPTION:Sirenland\, by Jennifer Barone\nBook Release Party & Poetry Reading with Live Music by Duo Pizzicato \nFriday June 5th\, 2026 from 6:30pm – 8:00pm\nTelegraph Hill Books\, 1501 Grant Ave\, San Francisco\, CA 94133\nPresented by Feather Press & Telegraph Hill Arts & Literature \nJoin us for the launch of Sirenland – a new poetry collection by Jennifer Barone\, published by Feather Press. The evening will feature a poetry reading by the author with special guests and live music by Duo Pizzicato\, Italian Mandolins – followed by a book signing. Sirenland\, by Jennifer Barone features 24 original\, color illustrations and photographs by the author. \nA reclamation of personal lineage – Sirenland is a mythic conversation across time with the poet’s ancestors from the Bay of Naples\, Italy. Ancestral spirits rise from sea caves and memory – as the poet reimagines her grandparents as sirens\, singing stories long submerged. \nIn this collection\, the sirens transform from feared monsters to radiant guardians of land\, sea\, and the Napoletani people. The ache of ancestral loss and immigration threads through grottos and sea caves of oracular whisper\, as Vesuvio stirs with ancestral fire and the sea becomes a liminal realm of longing\, alchemy\, and rebirth. \nThough the sirens’ voices have been silenced over centuries\, these poems listen deeply\, inviting their songs to be heard by all who are ready to receive them. \nAbout the Author:\nJennifer Barone is an Italian-American poet and artist\, with roots in the Bay of Naples\, Italy. She is the author of four poetry collections\, including Saporoso: Poems of Italian Food & Love\, Feather Press. A two-time winner of the San Francisco Public Library’s Poets Eleven contest for North Beach\, where Jennifer resides. At Telegraph Hill Books and Libreria Pino\, she curates and hosts Italian-English poetry readings\, leads writing workshops\, and hosts the Voices From the Hill podcast\, interviewing SF Bay Area authors. Her work has been published in multiple literary journals\, and featured at SFMOMA\, de Young Museum\, SFJAZZ Center\, and Marin Poetry Center\, among others. SUMMARY:The Glass Key Trio
DESCRIPTION:The Glass Key Trio explores original compositions inspired by Americana\, Jazz\, Classical\, Folk\, Balkan and Arabic music and film Noir at the Lost Church. \nJeremy Bleich – guitar/electronics\nBen Wright – acoustic bass\nMilton Villarrubia III – drums \n\n“The thing about knowing rules in music is that you can then break them in creative and purposeful ways. That’s been key to Jeremy Bleich’s wide-ranging musical practice for decades. The New Mexico-residing educator\, composer\, improviser and multi-instrumentalist brings a ton of traditions to the table with Glass Key Trio\, including Arabic\, Balkan and American folk music\, as well as contemporary art music and the particular elegant strain of blues-schooled music that soundtracks film noir… The sounds are cool\, but the group interaction\, in and around the interstices of the compositional framework\, is what really makes it come alive — the music is almost like a fourth player whom the other three are playing off of as they conjure it into being.” \n– Stephen Trageser – Nashville Scene

SUMMARY:Le Jazz Hot
DESCRIPTION:Le Jazz Hot (the Quartet/Trio of the Hot Club of San Francisco) is an ensemble of accomplished and versatile musicians celebrating the music of Django Reinhardt and Stephane Grappelli’s pioneering Hot Club de France. The ensemble borrows the all-string instrumentation of violin\, bass and guitars from the original Hot Club\, but breathes new life into the music with innovative arrangements of classic tunes and original compositions from the group’s superb lead guitarist Paul Mehling. Hearing the ensemble live\, or on any of their eleven albums\, carries the listener back to the 1930’s and to the small\, smoky jazz clubs of Paris or the refined lounges of the famous Hotel Ritz. Often called gypsy jazz\, the music of Le Jazz Hot has entranced audiences around the globe for over 30 years. Critics have hailed the group’s playing as “intricate\, scorching and often brilliant…” Acoustic Guitar. From festivals in Mexico and France to concert halls across North America\, Le Jazz Hot keeps this historic music fresh and alive.
