SUMMARY:Hard To Handle\, Grateful Dead Revival
DESCRIPTION:Vibe: Haight-Ashbury Revival | Flatbed Truck Soul | Psychedelic Homecoming \nCelebrate the spirit of the Summer of Love with Hard to Handle\, a free afternoon of psychedelic rock in the Golden Gate Park Panhandle. In an authentic tribute to the Grateful Dead’s legendary free concerts\, this event features two powerhouses of the modern Dead scene performing from a makeshift flatbed truck stage\, bringing high-fidelity improvisational rock back to the streets where it all began. \nThe Lineup\nThe China Cats: Northern California’s premier Grateful Dead tribute\, hailing from Santa Cruz. Known for their “spot-on” authentic renditions\, The China Cats approach the Dead’s catalog with the same reverence for American roots music that the original band held. Their sets are journey-like\, often revealing new facets of “old favorites” through intricate guitar work and tight-knit vocal harmonies. \nDanny’s Live Dead: Led by drummer Danny Luehring\, this ensemble is a “who’s who” of the Terrapin Crossroads alumni circuit. The group features Grahame Lesh (son of Phil Lesh)\, Garrett Deloian (Jerry’s Middle Finger)\, Brian Rashap\, and Danny Eisenberg (The Mother Hips). Expect deep\, locked-in grooves and the kind of intuitive interplay that only comes from musicians steeped in the Phil Lesh “unbroken chain” school of improvisation. \nThe Experience\nThe Tradition: This isn’t just a concert; it’s a revival. By performing from a flatbed truck near Ashbury Street\, the bands are recreating the famous guerrilla-style free gigs of 1968. It is a “no-barriers” performance where the music belongs to the people and the park itself. \nThe Setting: The Panhandle provides a unique\, linear sanctuary beneath a canopy of eucalyptus and Monterey pines. As the music drifts toward the intersection of the Haight\, the atmosphere becomes a communal “time machine\,” connecting the radical history of the neighborhood with the vibrant local scene of 2026. \nThe Atmosphere: Expect a multi-generational crowd of “Old Guard” Deadheads\, neighborhood families\, and curious travelers. There is no stage security or velvet rope—just an open invitation to dance in the grass to the timeless sounds of the Grateful Dead. \nJoin us for an afternoon of FREE MUSIC in the Panhandle of Golden Gate Park\, just like the boys did it back in the day! \nLocation: Golden Gate Park Panhandle between Oak and Fell\, Ashbury and Masonic.\nPlease take public transportation to arrive. There is little to no street parking in this area. \nSchedule of events:\n2 to 3pm: The China Cats\n3:30 to 4:30pm: Danny’s Live Dead\n5 to 6pm: Danny’s Live Dead \n@OAK AND ASHBURY\, SUNDAY MARCH 8 FROM 2PM TO 6PM\, IT’S FREE BECAUSE IT’S YOURS!!!

SUMMARY:HOUSE OF LOVE 2 ~ ft. CASA DEL SOL & Dagnasterpus and Special Guests
DESCRIPTION:Welcome to the House Of Love! We are so happy to introduce a regularly occurring musical happening curated and hosted by Mad Johnny Modell and Wally Llama Ingram from the band Casa Del Sol\, along with our dear friend and collaborator Joby Marmot King Pritzker. \nEach monthly event will feature an original set by Casa Del Sol followed by a performance from a band or artist with whom we either share a close musical kinship\, or who is a novel artist we’re excited to introduce to our Bay Area gang of deep music lovers (AKA The Strange Angels). The third act of the night will be a cross-collaboration featuring all the above\, as well as very special guests and musical luminaries. Our mission is to draw upon the rich musical heritage of San Francisco in order to foster a regular collective of artists and music lovers which honors and expands upon that spirit. The music will be top notch; the vibe will be celebratory. Won’t you join us at the House of Love?! \n  \nCASA DE SOL \nCasa Del Sol is a band of brothers with a mission to shed light in dark times. While the band might be called “alternative”\, its cinematic music is rooted in 1960s and 1970s-inspired and socially-conscious psychedelic soul-rock. The proudly San Francisco\, California-based band has just released its debut album\, Strange Angels\, a “turn on\, tune in\, drop out” offering- it’s a journey that rewards listening in one continuous sitting. The band is currently working on their follow up album. \nThe four-piece group’s freewheeling but distinctive aesthetic encompasses strains of psychedelia\, soul\, rock\, blues\, jazz\, folk\, and world music. Casa Del Sol features singer-songwriter\, producer\, and guitarist Mad Johnny Modell\, and his best friend of 30 years\, legendary drummer Wally Ingram (Sheryl Crow\, Crowded House\, Eric Burdon\, Stockholm Syndrome\, Bob Weir and Phil Lesh\, Jackson Browne\, Bonnie Raitt). The band is rounded out by Modell’s dear friends\, bassist Mike DiPirro (Free Peoples\, Albany Project\, Bill Kreutzmann) and keyboardist Mighty Dave Pellicciaro (Jackmormons\, Materialized). While Modell is the band’s singer and songwriter\, Casa Del Sol is a band in the truest sense. \nMembers: \n● John ‘Mad Johnny’ Modell – Vocals\, Guitar \n● Dave ‘Mighty Dave’ Pellicciaro – Keys \n● Wally Llama Ingrahm – Drums\, Percussion \n● Mike D DiPirro – Bass\, Backing Vocals \n● Tree Adams ● Ben Levine ● Daniel Cohen \nDAGNASTERPUS \nDagnasterpus was born at 30\,000 feet somewhere between Los Angeles and New Orleans\, when a benevolent\, funky creature—part octopus\, part Poseidon\, part Buddha—fell out of bandleader Tree Adams’ head in 2017. The band that emerged from the mighty DAG serves up a gritty blend of swampy grooves\, deep blues\, and psychedelic jams. \nAdams is a veteran road warrior (NYC Jamband\, The Hatters) and an award-winning composer known for iconic film and TV scores including Californication\, Lethal Weapon\, The 100\, and NCIS: New Orleans. He’s joined by drum legend Wally Ingram (Timbuk 3\, David Lindley\, Bob Weir) and mighty Ben Levine on bass (country legend Neal McCoy\, and INXS lead singer Ciaran Gribbin). Together\, Dagnasterpus channels cosmic funk with feet (tentacles) firmly planted in the mud.

SUMMARY:Killer Whale w/ Charlie Millard Band
DESCRIPTION:CHARLIE MILLARD BAND (9:20PM – 11:20PM) \nFrom Northern Michigan\, featuring percussionist Will Harris\, Jercat Millard on guitars\, and Charlie on the keys/organ/Rhodes bass\, their Live performances have audiences raving about their refreshing Rock n Roll sound described as “small movies for the ears”. Their studio debut album ‘Pilot Boy’ was released in 2025 and their tour continues across the states and internationally. Come fly with the Charlie Millard Band. *Cinematic Rocknroll Originals\, like small movies for the ears! \nKILLER WHALE (11:30PM – 2:30AM) \nKiller Whale is an indie-soul and psychedelic rock band led by singer and songwriter Thomas Johnson\, originally from Baton Rouge\, Louisiana. The project is known for its laid-back\, “psychedelic pontoon soul” sound that blends influences from New Orleans funk\, San Francisco surf rock\, and 60s/70s folk. At the heart of mostly every song is a simple folk song\, but what varies greatly is the manner in which the artist chooses to present it. Johnson has been working on new material that explores the possibilities of his vision. His efforts to find unique and novel ways to present his writing have yielded refreshing results. One thing is clear from these recordings..Johnson has absolutely no interest in being a simple\, strumming balladeer. \nIn his new project Killer Whale\, Johnson is widening the sonic footprint of his sound. In the process\, he has taken a keen interest in recording methods and electronic instruments not commonly associated with folk music. Although guitar and vocals remain the heart of his songs\, Johnson’s new material incorporates digital and analog drum machines\, synthesizers and densely layered vocal effects.” \n$15 (ADVANCE TICKETS) / $20 at The Door Night of the Show
