SUMMARY:THE HUMIDORS and DIRTY CELLO
DESCRIPTION:THE HUMIDORS \n(11:40PM ’til  2:15AM+) \nHailing from Oakland\, California\, The Humidors have been churning out their own unique brand of party music for over a decade. Combining elements of hard-hitting funk\, greasy soul\, vintage R&B\, soul jazz\, and more you can be sure that this eight-piece unit is committed to the groove in all its shapes and forms.\nConsisting of some of the best Bay Area musicians and led by the heartfelt lead vocals of Tori Roze\, The Humidors have established themselves over their tenure as one of the West Coast’s premier funk & soul bands and are committed to spreading the Gospel of Funk to dance floors everywhere. Having shared the stage with acts such as Dumpstaphunk\, The New Mastersounds\, The Meters’ Leo Nocentelli\, Shuggie Otis\, and the late\, great Bernie Worrell\, The Humidors are in their element on stage. Bursts and washes of B3\, punchy horns\, chugging percussion\, thumping bass\, and burning guitar leads all interweave in an infectious polyrhythmic stew. \nThis band of troubadours has developed a sound that pulls from a melting pot of old-school and modern influences\, yet is always rooted in a commitment to ego-less playing that embraces the ensemble approach to funk. \nThe Humidors are Justin Abee (percussion)\, Patrick Cress (Baritone Sax)\, Rudo Kinard (bass)\, Mike Mulqueen (guitar/vocals)\, Scott Okamoto (Trombone)\, Tori Roze (lead vocals) Stevie Utstein (keyboards/organ)\, and Adam Willis (drums). \n  \nDIRTY CELLO \n(9:20PM ’til 11:15PM) \nDirty Cello – cello like you’ve never heard before! Combine the virtuosic wail of Jimi Hendrix\, the soul of BB King\, and the fire of Bill Monroe\, and add a whole lot of cello\, and you get the Dirty Cello band. With wild vocals\, and world class cello playing\, the group is led by vivacious cross-over cellist\, Rebecca Roudman. \nDirty Cello performs all over the world\, from Iceland to Israel\, from Scottish castles to underground caves presenting an energetic and wild show that’s been described as\, \n“Dirty Cello’s music is all over the map: funky\, carnival\, romantic\, sexy\, tangled\, electric\, fiercely rhythmic\, and textured\, and only occasionally classical.” by Oakland Magazine.
