The Grove welcomes Tom Conneely & Birds of Paradise — a twang-driven rock and roll outfit from San Francisco whose music blends practiced song craft and guitar-driven exploration steeped in the Bakersfield sound. Drawing on influences from Buck Owens to Arthur Russell, their hypnotic twang and Beach Boys-inspired harmonies have sold out shows across the West Coast, with notable performances at Offbeat Festival in Reno and Noise Pop in San Francisco. Hot off the 2025 release of New Kind Palace, the Birds of Paradise are following up with their new record Water Horse, released April 10, 2026 via Only One on the Mountain.
