Jeff Orchard Jazz at Belle Cora features San Francisco pianist and vocalist Jeff Orchard, whose lively, improvisation-first sets draw from Jazz, Blues, Bebop, and the Great American Songbook. A native New Yorker from a jazz family, Orchard performed in 1970s New York as a sideman with trumpeter Roy Eldridge’s band before resuming his music career in San Francisco; his repertoire can range from “Rhapsody in Blue” and “It Don’t Mean a Thing” to “St. James Infirmary Blues,” with each performance shaped in the moment.
