Martin Luther McCoy is a San Francisco singer, songwriter, guitarist, producer, and performer whose work moves between soul, funk, R&B, rock, hip-hop, and spoken-word-inflected songwriting. Active since the early-1990s neo-soul movement, McCoy has performed with the SFJAZZ Collective and toured with The Roots and Oakland rapper Too Short. His projects include MoonMedicin, Rebel Soul Records, the annual Funk That Stole Christmas program, and The Revolution Will Not Be Televised, a tribute to Gil Scott-Heron. His recordings include Rebel Soul Music, Live at Arlene’s Grocery, Extra Terrestrial Brother, Love Is the Hero, Kobe Moon, and Welcome Back Love, a recent release developed through Rebel Soul Records.
